Sales exceed expectations, webinar and podcast released, and 5-star reviews growing.

If They Only Knew: A Cop’s Journey with Addiction and Mental Health was officially launched on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. In the past two weeks, purchasers from as far away as Australia have ordered the book. If They Only Knew is now available on most online bookstores, as well as multiple bookstores in Ottawa and Sudbury, and a growing list of libraries across Eastern Ontario. Please continue to check the website for updates on new locations. 

The only hiccup in the online sales process has been getting the hardcover book listed on Indigo’s website. The E-book has been available for quite some time, but the paperback is still forthcoming. We are working on rectifying that.

Webinar and Podcast

Laura Kloosterman, Executive Director of Badge of Life Canada, hosted me for an hour-long webinar on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. While the conversation was, at times, difficult, Laura’s thoughtful and kind approach helped us explore a wide range of addiction and mental health issues.

Later that week, the Ontario Provincial Police Association released its “10-5 Podcast” about our journey, the book, and ways people struggling with these issues, as well as their families, can get help. The OPPA has close to 10,000 members across Ontario, and this is their official podcast, also available to the public. 

The title of the podcast is “Retired Police Officer Shares Struggles with Addiction & Mental Health to Help Others 10-5 Podcast Episode 136 – Guest Retired Inspector Lance Valcour.”
